*2.27.2024: Version 1.8.6 is online. It remedies my glaring mistake in SLU5B of using characters with macrons, such as when writing "kawaīi," and not noticing such characters are not on the SystemFont sheets. Thank you, Yurumbo.
*2.24.2024: Version 1.8.5 is online and includes fixes to UNDG7 that were never added to a release. Thanks to Ishkoten and VandimionX for bringing it to my attention.
*2.21.2024: Version 1.8.4 is online and Faithful Subs is now complete! Except for 5500+ lines belonging to side-quest characters (Mireille, Kyrie, Moggie, etc), all SLU5B dialogue is translated. Next update (v1.9) will include a revision of the INTERmission chapters; Faithful Subs 2.0 will provide Dualsubs support, too. In the meantime, if you find any errors such as misspellings or missing punctuation, please let me know in POSTS. Thank you all for your support!
*2.18.2024: Version 1.8.3 is available and Chapter 8 is done! All SLU5B battle dialogue is translated, so you'll notice changes when you fight Reno and Rude, for instance. Chapter 9 plot dialogue is all translated and only has field banter left. Same goes for Chapters 13 and 14. We're almost there! I also addressed a glaring "Would you like Would you like to change parties?" error in Chapter 17.
*2.8.2024: Version 1.8.2 is available. I spoke too soon last time, but this update adds new translations for all cutscene/event dialogue in Chapters 8, 9, 13 and 14. As far as I know, this update means all cinematic events in the game have new translations. I still have Battle and Player View dialogue to get through, and then there's the Talk section, which makes up 65% of the file and contains a plethora of NPC dialogue. Stay close.
*1.29.2024: Version 1.8.1 is online. This is the first update to SLU5B and translates only cutscene dialogue in Chapters 8 and 9.
*1.17.2024: Version 1.7.2 is online. This update addresses a good chunk of dialogue I missed on my first pass. Sorry, y'all!
*1.15.2024: Version 1.7 is posted. This update includes translations for UNDG6, which includes subtitles for all Chapter 10 and some of Chapter 14, and SBIL0, which is all of Chapters 16 through 18. Also corrected a few mistakes in SLUM7.
*1.4.2024: Version 1.6 posted. All dialogue for MAKO5/Chapter 7 is translated.
*12.31.2023: Version 1.5.1 posted. Adds translations to Chapter 18 ending sequence/post-motorcycle chase. Final update for 2023--happy New Year!
*12.22.2023: Version 1.5 posted. All GRAV7/Chapter 11 dialogue is translated. Additionally, Faithful Menus 1.01 is posted. Most notable change is chapter titles. Other translations include Limit Breaks, some materia names and descriptions, and summon descriptions.
*12.20.2023 #2: Added optional Faithful Menus. Version 1.0 translates weapon names and descriptions. Pak will conflict with other mods that alter menu text.
*12.20.2023 #1: Version 1.4 posted. All PLAT4/Chapter 6 dialogue has been processed and translated. Additionally, previous translations to PLAT7/Chapter 15 and UNDG7 have been reviewed and revised, (UNDG7 is the latter half of Chapter 13 and will require SLU5B to be finished).
*12.13.2023: Version 1.3 posted. All TOWN7/Chapter 4 dialogue on the Sector 7 plate has been processed and translated. The next update will target PLAT4/Chapter 6 at a minimum.
*12.1.2023: Version 1.2 posted. SLUM7/Chapter 3 and Chapter 12 completed, plus all Chapter 4 plot-related dialogue in the Sector 7 slums. Chapter will be finished when TOWN7 is translated.
*11.18.2023: Version 1.1 posted. TNNL4/Chapter 5 completed; all dialogue translated, including non-attributable lines, (of which there were few). Chapter 3 main story/plot dialogue was already translated in 1.0, but this did not include tertiary characters, such as Wymer and Chadley. That will be in the next revision.
*11.10.2023: Faithful Subs is relaunching and rebranding as Faithful Subs REBIRTH with the intent to translate and rewrite all main story dialogue before Final Fantasy VII REBIRTH launches 02.29.2024.
