{{Infobox mod |title = Bright Lights - Big City |logo = https://i.imgur.com/JqZ3yDGm.jpg |developer = Chuck Yufarley |version = 1.0 |release = 2020-09-01 }} ==Description== Bright Lights - Big City adds DOZENS of new neon signs to your settlement's workshop. This mod more than TRIPLES the number of assets from my first neon mod, Not Your Average Neon. Like a number of my previous workshop mods, Bright Lights - Big City adds a unique category to the workshop menu, which separates the signs by size, condition, and function. Roughly 90% of the signs have been made available in both clean and crusty versions. In addition to all the workshop versions, I've also included a majority of the signs as Creation Kit resources. If you want to place signs in the world outside of your settlements, you can find versions not requiring power (always on) when you open the mod in the Creation Kit. Just type Yufarley_Resource in the filter box to find all the available assets. Most of the signs are simple, plop it down and hook up power builds. One major exception is the vault sign, which requires some minor assembly. All the vault sign parts are set apart in the build menu in their own tab. When building the vault sign, start with the stone base structure, then add the gear mechanism, and follow that up with the generator engine. The gear assembly and generator will snap into place, as long as you keep them centered inside the stone base. There's also an optional door that snaps onto the stone base. The \"Vault\" portion of the sign will light up once the generator is hooked up, but additional snap on elements will need to be powered by attaching a wire from the generator engine to the power connector located on the wall to the left of the generator. Each time a new element is placed, the wire needs to be re-attached. I go through the entire build process in the video below. If you want to build a vault sign in the Creation Kit, a pre-assembled pack-in can be found using the Yufarley_Resource filter. Several signs have a marquee that allows you to add your own messages. There is also a stand-alone marquee. The marquee letters come in two sizes, each with 6 different colors. Not all the marquees accept both letter sizes, some only take large, some only take small, and some take both. The Scroll-O-Matic is a tickertape style lighted scrolling text display. It can display up to 8 individual text items in 5 second intervals. There are over 60 lines of text you can use to create custom greetings, notifications or warnings for your settlement. Once you place the Scroll-O-Matic, you then need to attach a control module via wire. This allows you to place the sign wherever you'd like and control the setup from a convenient location. The setup menu is easy to follow, but you can see me demonstrate the process in the video below. Of course, all the signs require a certain amount of power. Generally, the bigger the sign, the more power it requires. Most of the bigger signs have a power connection for snapping wires to. Most of the wall signs rely on radiant power, with the exception of a few of the larger ones. Also, most of the small wall signs can be turned on and off without disconnecting the power source. If you watched the release video for the mod, you saw that I had SEVERAL signs placed, all in working order, and I can say there was little if any impact on performance while capturing the footage.
