A mod to completely revamp Nacht Der Untoten, or as the map is called internally, 'nazi zombie prototype'

Are you tired of the 'vanilla' feel and difficulty of the original zombie maps? Do you wish there was a mod that fixes all of the annoying issues of the map, adds the latest new features, and actually makes the game feel like fun to play, with a common-sense take on its realism and historical accuracy? Well, look no further!

This mod makes the beloved zombies debut map much more interesting, harder, realistic, and plainly, more fun and enjoyable. Can you reach and beat round 30?

Includes literally thousands of tweaks and edits of the vanilla zombie code, all self-written with no plagiarism from other authors, and hundreds of hours of coop playtesting to find the best balance of gameplay!

The original zombiemode script has been upgraded to the level of Der Riese, most gameplay elements will look and feel completely different to the vanilla version. A custom visual palette was specifically created to rid the map of its ugly, gray, unsaturated look.

Every single weapon has been adjusted for the utmost realism, including damage that actually makes sense regarding their caliber or type (explosives got extreme buffs), recoil, clip sizes, firing rate, weight, and as a cherry on top, disabled reload canceling entirely!

Added many new features to zombie AI that includes customizing their gibbing, intricately balanced zombie health and spawning, and new powerups and major changes to the scoring system! Some zombies will actually evade or rethrow your grenades right back at you! Also, restored lots of cut content from the game, including removed animations and gameplay additions like Sleight of Hand actually repairing the window boards at an increased speed.

Fixed plenty of bugs from the original game, including the annoying 'sticky zombies' pushing you around and getting you stuck, wunderwaffe robbing your health away, zombies attacking and killing you from beyond their reach, zombies attacking you during a nuke powerup, zombies getting stuck outside of the barriers, and many many more that I definitely forgot to mention here.

Includes custom 'boss' rounds with fast sprinter zombies, randomly spawning minibosses, and lots of tweaking to the regular zombies to make the gameplay that much more rewarding and challenging!

Added perks, pack-a-punch, many new weapons and equipment originally unavailable in the map, and best of all, fair balancing of every weapon's price, damage, and availability! Many of the original upgraded weapon models were either visually redone, or in many weapon's case, completely created from scratch!

Also included a custom intro sequence, a beatable ending, German player models, and custom decals and posters added for authenticity's sake. The map takes place in the Reich, afterall.

A comprehensive list of changes and additions would be way too much to write up. Thousands of hours of intense brainstorming has led to this mod to proudly present this map in its ultimate form, in the way it should have been in the first place!

Expect to find many based surprises and hundreds of 'under-the-hood'-tweaks on this one.

Best played in Co-Op with your friends!

Install dir: AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\mods\proto

The "proto" folder should have just two files: mod.ff, proto.iwd

Start the game, select "mods" in bottom of the screen, select proto, and click "launch"

Then, click solo play or play in coop with friends!

The mod uses a preset FOV of 80, and actually raises the stock FPS cap ingame for the people that have left it untouched. Some other visual quality tweaks are applied, too.

Hint: use "radmin vpn" software to play "lan games" online with your pals with extremely low latency! Cod waw lanfix exe file is required for this to work, in case you are playing without a cd-key.

When playing the map in solo mode, occasionally you might encounter unexplained script errors such as "unknown function" when starting the map, disregard this, waw is not perfect, restart the game and relaunch the mod, it will work just fine
