The vanilla Port-A-Diner machine has a ridiculously low chance of giving you a pie. It could take as many as 1000 attempts with Luck = 1 and up to 50 attempts if Luck = 10. And even then, the Port-A-Diner machine at Medford Memorial Hospital was broken and would not spawn your well-earned pie. And to add insult to injury, the vanilla pie is not worth all the trouble.
This mod fixes the Port-A-Diner machines so that you get that Perfectly Preserved Pie on the first try.
It also adds 9 new flavours of Perfectly Preserved Pies with new textures and exciting new buffs. The flavour of your pie will be chosen at random when you grab it.
This mod also fixes the vanilla Port-A-Diner machine at Medford Memorial Hospital that would never spawn your pie after you successfully grabbed it.
The vanilla formula for getting a pie was:
- pick a random number between 1 and 1000. If that number was less than or equal to (2 x Luck + attempts / 2) you got the pie.
The new formula for getting a pie is:
- gimme dat pie or I'll blow your fricken' head off.
If you still want a chance of not getting a pie, there is an alternative script that will give you better odds than vanilla (see Optional Files).
The Port-A-Diner at Melford Memorial Hospital was missing a script property pointing to the container (door) where the pie should be spawned (tsk tsk Bethesda). I've fixed it.
The following new pie flavors are added to the Port-A-Diner:
- Perfectly Preserved Plum Pie: +100 EXP and instantly heals damaged limbs
- Perfectly Preserved Pineapple Pie: +100 EXP and boosts any SPECIAL <=5 by +5 for 30 min
- Perfectly Preserved Pomelo Pie: +100 EXP, restores 50 health and applies Quiet Reflection perk (+5% EXP for 24 min)
- Perfectly Preserved Peach Pie: +100 EXP and +50 AP, +10 AP Rate and +25 Critical Chance for 30 min
- Perfectly Preserved Persimmon Pie: +100 EXP and Sugar Rush for 30 min (+20% actor and animation speed)
- Perfectly Preserved Pear Pie: +100 EXP and +20 limb damage regeneration for 30 min
- Perfectly Preserved Pomegranate Pie: +100 EXP, cures all addictions and gives immunity to addiction perk for 30 min
- Perfectly Preserved Papaya Pie: +100 EXP, become Legendary for 30 min (double damage)
- Perfectly Preserved Passionfruit Pie: +100 EXP, +10 health regeneration for 30 min
