News: I decided to try something a little different from my previous mods. I wanted to add some "lore friendly" medical capsules throughout the Commonwealth, primarily to aid folks like me who play survival mode, or with mods that increase the difficulty, like Naugrim04's Frost mod. But first, please understand I do not feel that mods that increase difficulty and reduce your survivability need my mod. This is just an option for folks like me who enjoy hardcore playthroughs, but also like to have the option to head to a little safe haven.

This is not a player home, new lands, or settlement mod. This mod only adds additional buildings (capsules in this case) to the vanilla/modded Fallout 4 landscape in a lore-friendly way. These capsules are medical outposts and are decorated and fitted accordingly. Chem,and cooking stations, with items and containers that are health and aid orientated.

After the bombs fell the Vault Tek employees that didn't get into the Vaults set up these medical units to help not only themselves but the remaining residents. Together they scavenged supplies from the surrounding hospitals to keep the medical capsule stocked up on supplies. Not long after, raider gangs started to form and began claiming territories, the raiders that were near these units realized they could get drugs such as jet for free if they offered to help protect the units from rival gangs, they wouldn't want to lose their supply of free drugs. Residents and raiders co-existed, all thanks to drugs and medicine.

Survival & Hardcore mode outposts[edit | edit source]

Information About The Outposts: I have not made any changes to the scripts for contaners. Meaning, any mods that change what you would normally get will work fine with this mod.

For example: If you use a mod that adds a specific item to "Chem safe boxes" and I have that container in the Outpost, the contents of the "Chem safe box" will contain the relevant modded item(s).

Outpost Locations:

  • Currently, there are 3 Outposts placed in the Commonwealth, one at Vault 114, Vault 95, and Vault 111. More will be added in future updates.

Outpost 114

  • Like I've mentioned above, these are medical Outposts, set up just after the bombs fell. Raiders for a time protected these units as a way to get free chems from the vault-tek employees who set up the Outposts, however not all the gangs wanted to protect the Outposts. Outpost 114 was such a location that raiders decided to take over the outpost and claim it as a base for themselves.

Outpost 111

  • Unofficially, Outpost 111 is the main base of operations as it was the first Outpost to be setup. All medical and food aid gets delivered to Outpost 111 first, so it can be recorded and allocated, from there it is distributed between the other Outposts. Outpost 111 is only accessible with a keycard due to the large amounts of aid that is stored there.

Outpost 95

  • Not much is know about Outpost 95 as it was the last of the Outposts to be setup, by the time is was completed and stocked with basic supplies raider gangs had spread across the Commonwealth making it harder to transfer additional aid and medicine supplies to the Outpost.

Installation[edit | edit source]

I recommend installing with NMM, although manual installation is possible by placing the contents of the mod's data folder into your Fallout 4's data folder.

INSTALLATION FOR MODDED SAVES:

  • If you are using a mod that changes the vanilla landscape, like "FROST" for example, you need to install this mod LAST.
  • If you install this mod first, the mod you are using to change the landscape will overwrite this mod, therefore removing the Outposts from the modded game.

An Installation example: Installing with NMM

  • Download, then Install Frost first
  • Download, then install any Frost patches or hotfixes second
  • Download, then install Survival Ouptosts LAST

UPDATING THE MOD:

  • If you are updating this mod from a previous version you need to remove any items/power armor/followers from the cells listed below. The update not only adds a new Outpost (or whatever is being added by the update), but will also replace the existing ones. You have been warned.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Do not enable the mod (via the NMM) if your character is currently in one of the modded cell locations, doing so will cause issues with the Outpost spawning in, and may also cause issues to your save game. Head to a location (an interior cell works best) that isn't the following:
  • coc Vault114 (Subway Station)
  • coc Vault111ext (Vault lift exterior)
  • coc Vault95ext (Exterior of Vault 95)

Please ensure you have made the correct .INI edits first.
